Spring Priority Registration at HCTC
Student
Self-Service Online Registration
opens to students according to the total number of credit hours
they have already earned. These windows of opportunity
for Spring 2010 enrollment are shown in the table below. Self-service
drop/add access closes to students on Wednesday, January 13. After
that date, college data entry personnel (upon receipt of completed
drop/add paperwork) must process enrollment transactions.

Priority
Registration Eligibility
All
students who are enrolled in the Fall 2009 semester are eligible
to register for Spring 2010 classes during priority registration.
What
You Need to Do
See
an advisor to plan your schedule of classes. Request
that the advisor grant you permission to register online.
Advisors can walk you through this process.
Or,
if you choose not to utilize Self Service and prefer
traditional registration, you may bring your properly signed and
completed schedule to one of the following locations during regular
business hours beginning on Monday, October 12, 2009:
Hazard Campus – Room 207 – First Federal Center
Hazard Campus – Room 121 - J. Marvin Jolly Classroom Center
Technical Campus – Room 121 Complex – Devert Owens Building
Lees College Campus – Jackson Hall Advising Center
Knott Co. Branch – Room 202 - Knott Opportunity Center
Leslie Co. Center – Administrative Office – Community Development
Center
Any available advisor can also register students
IMPORTANT:
Tuition
must be paid in full or payment arrangements made with the Business
Office prior to the first day of classes or your class
schedule will be cancelled.
New
and Re-Admitted Students
Students
who have never attended HCTC or who were enrolled prior to the
Fall 2009 semester must complete an application for admission.
Upon receiving your completed application, Admissions
Office staff will contact you with further information.
Degree-
and diploma-seeking students must have official high school transcripts
or GED scores in their admissions file. Official transcripts from
all postsecondary institutions attended must be submitted in order
to complete the admissions file. These documents should be in
your admissions file by November 2, 2009,
in order for you to receive timely registration assistance.
Last
Date to Drop Without Owing Tuition
Students
who register for classes and then decide not to attend one or
more of those classes must officially withdraw by submitting
a signed drop form to one of the registration locations listed
above in order to AVOID A TUITION CHARGE .
Drop forms should be submitted by 3:00 p.m. no later than:

Virtual Campus Classes (online classes) - 100% Refund Dates
KCTCS
colleges offer start/end dates that may vary across classes to
accommodate the growing demand for online classes throughout the
academic year. Please check the start dates and class calendars
for each of your online classes to determine drop and refund dates.
These dates may vary from class to class. For Web Local or Web
Enhanced courses, refer to the course calendar of the college
delivering the course.
Dropping
a Class
Obtain a drop form in the Records Office on any campus or from
our forms page.
An advisor must sign the drop form.
Submit the drop form to the Records Office or to any of the registration
locations listed above.
(If
you are dropping a class after mid-term for that particular
class, you must obtain a grade assignment from the class instructor.
For distance learning classes, the instructor must email consent
to the HCTC Registrar.)
