           Student ratings are one of the most common features of faculty evaluation systems... And,

           because the evaluation of faculty performance, especially for the purpose of making personnel

           decisions, is not always the most popular and well-received of administrative activities, faculty

           and administrators   have  generated and perpetuated a number of common beliefs (myths)

           concerning student ratings of instructors and instruction.
