Submission Guidelines Spring 2009 Fall 2008 -- Students Only!
|
ContestsFor the past few years, Kudzu has been conducting contests for its spring issue in poetry and fiction. These contests are open to all and have a deadline of February 1. All submissions must be submitted as blind entries, with writer's name, contact information, and title of work appearing only on a cover sheet. The poetry must be under 100 lines (for each poem) and can be on any topic. The fiction entries must be under 3,000 words and can be on any topic. All contest entries must include a $5.00 fee for each work submitted. The check or money order should be made out to Kudzu. Entries that are not postmarked by the deadline or do not include the fee will not be considered for the contest. If you would like to have your work returned, please include adequate postage and a SASE. No one will be contacted until after March 15 concerning any contest entry. The prize for the contest winner will be $100.
2009 Gurney Norman Prize for Short Fiction Flyer Although in the past we have held a cover art contest, future issues will not solicit cover art as a contest. If you have work you would like for us to consider for the cover, please contact us. If our budget allows us, we will award $50 for the work chosen to grace our cover. Submit as jpeg format. In the fall semester, we created a student only issue. To jumpstart the first fall issue, we held a horror contest. The flyer is posted below. In the future, the fall issue will award a $50 prize to the best short story, the best poem, and the best artwork submitted by a student. Student Only Contest -- Fall 2008 Issue
