Submission Guidelines Spring 2009 Students Only!

Spring 2009 Issue Hazard Community and Technical College’s literary magazine, Kudzu, is seeking submissions for its 2009 issue. Send us your original essays, poetry, short stories, flash fiction, artwork, and book reviews. We encourage anyone interested in our magazine to contact us for further information regarding both general submissions and contest entries, or if you would like to be added to our mailing list. We would also like to announce the continuation of our contests, which have been judged by the likes of Gurney Norman, Kelly Norman Ellis, and Frank X. Walker, among others, in past issues. Reading fee for both contests is $5.00 per entry Gurney Norman Prize for Short Fiction First Place $100 Second Place $50 2009 will be the contest’s third annual inclusion in Kudzu. The judge will be Bonnie Jo Campbell. General Guidelines: * Entries must be between 1,500 and 3,000 words * There is no topical theme * We are looking for a good story with a strong sense of place and character
