MEDICAID
NURSE AIDE
The
75 - hour Medicaid Nurse Aide Program is designed to provide knowledge
and skills for nurse aides to assume the role and responsibility
required in long-term care. Federal and state laws and regulations
have been adopted to insure quality care to long term care residents.
The Nursing Home Reform Act established the requirements for nurse
aides employed in nursing homes to be trained, evaluated, and
after successful completion, to be registered. Registry
is maintained by the Division of Licensing and Regulation in Frankfort,
Kentucky. Completion
of this program is also a requirement for nursing students at
many colleges and universities.
