Nurse Aide Program Description
This
certificate course was instituted to prepare individuals to provide
quality care in long term care facilities. A nurse aide
is a non-licensed health care professional who provides nursing
related services to facility residents. The focus of this
course is communication, infection control, safety, residents'
rights, and basic nursing skills. Upon completion of the
course, the individual is eligible to take the written and skill
test for the nurse aide registry. Successful completion
of the program is a prerequisite for admission to the RN or LPN
programs.
