Associate Degree Nursing (RN) Program Description:
The Associate Degree Nursing program prepares graduates to provide and manage client care and to become members within the discipline of nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum is organized around a clearly defined conceptual framework and combines general education and nursing courses. The nursing courses correlate classroom and clinical instruction in a variety of community agencies.
     
 
Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program Description:
The Practical Nursing program prepares individuals to practice within the legal scope of practical nursing under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Use of the nursing process at the practical nursing level toward the maintenance of health and prevention of illness, the observation and nursing care of persons experiencing changes in their health processes, and the evaluation of health practices of patients are emphasized.
     
 

Medicaid Nurse Aide Program Description

This certificate course was instituted to prepare individuals to provide quality care in long term care facilities.  A nurse aide is a non-licensed health care professional who provides nursing related services to facility residents.  The focus of this course is communication, infection control, safety, residents' rights, and basic nursing skills.  Upon completion of the course, the individual is eligible to take the written and skill test for the nurse aide registry.  Successful completion of the program is a prerequisite for admission to the RN or LPN programs.
