The Kentucky Board of Nursing has the power to deny a nursing graduate the right to take the NCLEX-RN if an individual has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony which involved acts that bear directly on the qualifications of the graduate to practice nursing.  Students may be required to have a criminal background check and/or drug screening done in order to enter the health care facilities for clinical.  Students are responsible for the cost.  Based on the results the facility has the right to deny students admission to the site for clinical.
